DescriptionHere is the 11” x 17” pin-up for The Changeling by Bill Reinhold (pencils) and Josef Rubinstein (inks). While the writing on the art board says the artwork is for the 1983 Book of the Dead, my fond memories of this artwork is from the 1987 Deluxe Edition issue #16 so that is how I am labeling this in my gallery. Also, while I know that Changeling died a hero (in disguise as Prof. X), I choose to remember him as dirty, rotten villain. Just look at those eyes! Those are bad guy eyes that are up to no good!Social/Sharing |

Really fun getting introduced to Silver Age characters in the 80's this way as there were definitely going to be some reprints of those silver age X-Men issues or it made you hunt them down back issues. Changeling is probably the early incarnation of Morph.

I think it's the helmet that does it for people, Marcus.

I kind of think it's that man purse. Nowhere is it explained what he needed it for.

I believe it was revealed in the Chapped Lips storyline that it contained his lop balm...

This image of Changeling was the first one I ever saw of the character way back when, and those crazy eyes practically jumped off the page. And I assume he needed the purse to carry all of his fake I.D.s.

It definitely is the crazy eyes! And the multiple I.D.s is a very good idea! Much better than my lip balm offering...

Yeah those eyes are telling, no doubt! And that helmet...may be the most unique I've seen! I don't know this dude but want to know more! Where could I look...hmmm...perhaps...OHOTMU DE #16?! :) Sweet piece right up your alley Benedict - congrats!

Thanks, K-man! And those Deluxe Editions of OHOTMUs filled my teenage brain with all sorts of comic adventures featuring obscure villains I never seen before.
