DescriptionLadies Week #2 continues!Love those top four panels where American Dream suits up. And then you get that great splashy panel of her running across the top of a building, leading to her big leap. American Dream is Shannon Carter, the niece of S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Sharon Carter, who grew up idolizing Captain America. She is a member of the MC2 Universe, which is an alternative future timeline for the Marvel Universe. The imprint was spun off from the events of What If? #105, which was the first appearance of the character Spider-Girl, Spider-Man's daughter from an alternative future. Fantastic stuff by the talented artistic team of Todd Nauck and Scott Koblish. Social/Sharing |

Hey Troy, Thanks for the comment. I should have given a little more info about American Dream in my description. She is a member of the MC2 Universe, which is an alternative future timeline for the Marvel Universe. The imprint was spun off from the events of What If? #105, which was the first appearance of the character Spider-Girl, Spider-Man's daughter from an alternative future. In our regular universe, as you probably know, MJ did give birth to a daughter, but she was seemingly stillborn, though there was some mystery surrounding that which involved Norman Osborn. Anyway ... I really enjoyed reading thse MC Universe comics back in the day, so I love picking up original art from those stories.

I know a girl, I met her last night
She was fresh off the page
She whispered in my ear
"Pauly, come here, I'll have issue one to make a name"
Pauly, artwork fan, follow me, 'cause
I don't want Todd Nauck you, but she does
I just want to give you some S.H.I.E.L.D. advice (listen, Pauly)
Never jump buildings like the Leaper
And keep your thighs ready for danger
'Cause this right here is an A-Next paradise
This ain't the same Shannon girl that you used to know
'Cause Cap left Sharon 30 years ago
Scott Koblish inking the splash for you and me
So, tell me, whatever happened to the American Dream?

Hmm, I think that on a subconscious level, the real reason you like the top panels is because the actions in the first three can be visually interpreted as her actually removing her costume. Ahem....
With as buxom and beauteous as she is though, who could blame you? American Dream is right. Va-va-voom!

Man, it's hard to top a a suit-up page followed by the "POW" shot! Great example here. And that charging pose, definitely quintessential "Cap"! Congrats!
