DescriptionI'm so glad that I eventually got around to reading Rachel Rising. It's a brilliant slice of fantasy horror that fits neatly into a single omnibus volume (psst open a new tab and order it now).As always Terry Moore's cartooning is excellent, and for us art collectors it's a 2011 title with lettering on the page! Love to see it, especially when the dialogue is so amusing and easy to engage with. Zoe is such an interesting character and a source of a lot of the humour in the book which is what drew me to this page in particular. You don't really need the context to find the visual story telling layers. Zoe is trying to plot her way out of a difficult situation, whilst striking a pose you usually associate with an escapologist. It's a nice parallel and hints to the reader that there is an element of danger here. Social/Sharing |
