Amy's inking on her published pieces never ceases to catch my attention, there's a certain flawless quality to it. Looking at the print version you could easily mistake it for digital inks.
It's a really full image, but nothing has been overdone. It all helps to convey that moment of "stillness", with just the breeze teasing the hair as a nice little contrast.
I keep coming back to this piece every now and again to enjoy it, thanks for sharing. Never take it down!
I remember them using a similar story in the 70's cartoon version on TV. S02E02. Awesome.
This is great. There is so much on CAF that sometimes you don't happen upon stuff until years after it has been posted.
The posing and composition perfectly captures the essence of the Knightfall story. You can tell what a significant role Nolan had in shaping that story.
Can't help but see that as a nice little nod to Tim Burton. I mean come on it has to be right? It even has the moon in the background.
That's a fantastic cover. Recall really enjoying the mini, might go and re-read it.
Congrats!
How cool is it to have another chance at one that got away and win? We all have stories about those but they don't usually come around again.
I love the composition. Ross just takes the whole zipper up the front shiny black catsuit trope that we see so much, it's everywhere, urgh it's soooo overdone, I mean come on it's every hero and spy movie now, *eyeroll* ... and still manages to elevate it to the next level. Amazing.
Amazing. Pin this to your featured gallery pieces you coward XD
That is a banger of a cover to have a recreation of. Great choice!!!
That is amazing! Love it when comic art makes me smile.
Love it. I don't have to look at the published page to feel the purple background on it ;)
That's so cool! What's the story behind acquiring it?
Nice page! Excellent example of the character and humour that Simon manages to inject into the story.
Brilliant page! (Let me know if you ever want to let any of these go.)
Congrats. It's a shame that we don't see these anymore.
<3 LOVE!!! Geoff Senior Transformers art from any era, seeing some of these pop up in your CAF is making me fairly green with envy! Congrats!
Love this. Was so tempted to get one but the timing wasn't right. Congrats :)
Sweet page!!! I can't recall an interior page with that hand since. It was however drawn intentionally on a couple of the #115 connecting covers... and the last true gaff I recall was on the Banes & Noble Compendium 3 exclusive cover.
He's captured the character perfectly.
Is this a cameo app? I mean she's kinda shrouded in that cloak... but yeah it's not horrible.
Very cool... definitely the right artist for the job!
Beautiful sketch! It's pretty hard to get hold of something like this, enjoy & thanks for sharing :)
It's a fantastic cover and one that looks so much better without the colours.
Love it :) I saw this one getting done seeing as I spent most of my time in Dillon's line this year.
All of the above. It's a beauty, still remember reading it for the first time.
Brilliant splash, it certainly deserves a lot of love. Thanks for sharing the whole sequence too, how cool. The arc and its climax pretty much sums up how good Hellblazer can be (and was), Constantine doesn't just boil down to magic and artifacts it's mostly sleight of hand and being just a little bit more likable than the monsters.
Really nice addition. Love Mage, such a good book.
Hehe... I laughed a little too much at this one. ... anyway. Congratulations. There aren't many other pages out there that have as much going for it as this one. Wow.
Brutal. I hate this page... but then I think that's probably the response they were going for.
Was browsing your collection, glad that this one is present :)
Thanks for sharing. Noticed you have it down as one of your all time books on the blog. Cannot disagree with the choice. Love Mage and Matt's work on it, such an indie classic. Fingers crossed that "Hero Denied" sees the light of day.
Must be like looking into a mirror ;)
Love this image. Currently have it as my background on my PC and mobile. Can't go wrong with Balent's Catwoman.
