DescriptionCLICK HERE FOR AUCTION LISTING!19x25" open frame contains canvas w/oil painting original art by Mark E. Rogers (1952-2014), an author-illustrator best known for his Samurai Cat book series. Art was commissioned in 1979 and features a grim take of Sauron from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord Of The Rings saga. Embers glow and smoke pours from cracks in Sauron's face and from his eyes. A dragon head clasp secures his robes. Upper right bear Rogers' initials and 1979 date. Exc. and ready for display.
