We both really enjoy David Mack’s art, my partner does water color for meditation and whenever we are at a con and see Mack the conversations are always special. The fact that he did a cover piece for Tori Amos’s 30th anniversary box set for LITTLE EARTQUAKES, an album that means the world to my partner, made this a perfect gift. He follows Tori all over and has seen her in concert numerous times around the US. She is his zen outside of art and watercolor meditations. This combination was a thrill to find, thank you André for pointing my way to its existence and being able to snag this piece before anyone else (love that you and Ethan share the joy for these things and that you got the final cover, so we can share in the joy that this piece brings). I'm just a sucker for a nice watercolor. I think it's always been my favorite color medium. Not that I can't (or don't) appreciate other paints like oil or acrylic, but sometimes they can just be a little too intense. If you want softness and subtlety, it's hard to beat watercolors. Especially with someone who really knows how to use it. This is just lovely. I can't imagine it would hold the same charm for me if it were done any other way. It's really a wonderful study, and not so far removed from the final version. Congrats and enjoy!

This is brilliant, James! Huge Tori fan here as well, and the combo of David Mack and Tori is just too brilliant not to comment on and be blown away by. Gorgeous work by David here (completely agree with Eric's always-astute observations!) - what an amazing piece! Sincere congrats on landing this treasure!
