DescriptionThis graphic novel puts Batman and Robin at odds in the world of rock and roll, reliving some of its earliest debates. Is it devil music that promotes delinquency and crime? This page comes near the end of the story, after rocker Izaac Crowe has met his unfortunate demise, and his manager Roy Lazarus leaps from the verandah of his plantation house to escape Batman's grip. The page dimensions are more square than the usual comic book. The top margin reads 'LOTDK Fortunate Son', but the published book was not branded with a 'Legend of the Dark Knight' subtitle. The primitive, oversaturated 90s computer coloring does the page no favors; I prefer the black and white version. This came out the same year Gene Ha began his well-regarded run on Alan Moore's supercop series Top 10. Social/Sharing |

That is a pretty good observation as they must have thought this story would sell as a standalone than be an arc within Legends of the Dark Knight. Gene Ha's work is just so detailed and well studied. Even in panels without Batman, the corinthian columns, the curtains, and the iron balcony railing create enough of a setting for our characters to inhabit and act against.

The stabilty of the columns in the top panel work well in anchoring the page design. Ha's use of the repeat angle of Batman's face in panels two and five is nice. Great page from a talented artist.
Congrats and thanks for sharing!
