DescriptionHave been a fan of Mage since high school back in the 80's. I remember the first time I saw a collected edition of Kevin Matchstick holding that glowing baseball bat at a Waldenbooks (didn't have a comic book store in town, so I'd never seen the actual comics).One of these days I'll get a piece from the Hero Discovered, but I was happy to pick up a page from the Hero Defined and the Hero Denied at the NJ Comic Art Con in March 2023. Very cool that Wagner stays true to his cartoonist style even while the coloring and printing presentation had changed since the original series. Panels 3 and 4 has a nice animated look with the appropriate pause in between.

"Animated look" is a great way to describe it - particularly the panel when Kevin is shocked by Wally's jump.
