I am so glad you got this! I almost bid on it but sort of accidentally won one earlier.
It's SUCH an iconic Rom page!
That is insanely awesome! (I would say "sick" but I'm too old. ;))
Thanks! It's been a year and I still can't believe I own it when I look at it!
Beautiful page! Congrats!
Agreed on Alcala!
That's an amazing con commission, love the softness mixed with the "sharpness" of her helmet.
Congrats on a great Rom page! I remember that was on Dueling Dealers or an Anthony art drop a year or so ago and I ALMOST bought it - glad it ended up with you!
Great page of the greatest of the spaceknights in action AND the Prime Director - love it!
This is my favorite page from all of the Brave & the Bold issues - amazing!
Love it - pages where they are putting on their wings/helmets are personal favorites.
Thanks and I agree! Alex Saviuk's work in the 70's and 80's is archetypical comics for me and this page just feels cinematic with the establishing shot and then the move to the interior.
Hah, thanks - will be helpful to know where to look! :)
That's amazing - convratularions!
I appreciate very much what they were trying to do with the new Rom series, but it's hard to take a character name and give them a different, look, origin and supporting characters and have it work - it was nice to see the look return at the end.
Happy New Year!
Very cool and great story - I wasn't aware of this at all, but definitely remember the JLA/JSA cross-over and Earth-S. (I miss those fun stories!)
Richard is the one and only Nova for me and man that run in the early 2000's was *chef's kiss*
Stunning colors - you made the right decision on that!
Talk about a hit of nostalgia, that is really great!
That is freaking incredible! Great rendition of the character -Love the inclusion of the valknut and the winged staff too!
Great memories of this issue (heck, that whole era of Eternal Warrior and Bloodshot!).
LOVE getting the color guide for an OA page I own - congrats on uniting them!
Thanks! I added a second image with a different light source just to try to capture them (and the texture) better. :) Almost my entire collection is just pencil & ink, never thought about the challenge of accurately capturing the look with color.
Definitely a first for me. :)
He knocked this out of the park - the rays in the background, the murky water and the way the red pops - beautiful.
Great piece and that color does pop. I'm not sure why, but something about it (maybe the water?) reminds me a lot of a Japanese woodblock print. Congrats!
Very cool, congrats! (I'm just about to indulge in a rewatch of the original trilogy!)
Awesome! I dearly loved those early X-O issues!
Great page in a great issue! I remember missing that one on ebay years ago, congrats!
(Those Don Heck eyes are unmistakable.)
That is gorgeous - the highlighting around her makes the figure just leap (soar?) out of the background. Congrats!
