Description

from the 1977. "Captain Marvel Fights the Man OF Steel." your eyes are not deceiving you. one of the earliest meetings featuring Captain Marvel battling Superman. but wait it's really a robotic version of the man of steel created by Dr. Sivana to fool Billy Batson. Beautiful five panel page as the first four have Captain Marvel and Superman trading blows As the entire Marvel family (Mary, Freddie, Uncle Dudley and the Lieutenant Marvels await the outcome on the bottom panel. drawn and inked by the team of Scharffenberger/Colletta. pages from any early meeting between Captain Marvel and Superman are almost impossible to find. and even though it's a robotic superman. this did come out a year before the real ones meet in the all new Collector's Edition Vol 1 (1978) I purchased this from Anthony Synder on an episode of Dueling Dealers of comic art.(wednesday night at 9pm on the comicartfans YouTube channel.) this came from Anthony's personal collection.
