Really beautiful artwork. It seems to get better as the issue goes on. I love talking simians, but I hate that DC always uses them as villains. They give apes a bad name!

Now here's an interesting query: By leaving him to drown, assuming he did end up drowning, isn't that tatamount to Mon-El being a murderer? Of course, that may not matter much if Mon-El has already killed before. Has he?

Doctor Calomar's a bad name

A Mon El's smile is what they sell
You promise me Valor, then send apes to hell
Chains of apes got the oddities
When passion's a Legion, you can't break free

Oh, you've got simians, yeah
Oh, Man of Valor run
No ape can save me
The monkey will drown

Shot through the art
DC's to blame
They give apes a bad name (bad name)
I pay for art and you play your apes
They give apes a bad name (bad name)
Hey, you kill apes, your bad name

Yeah, I guess that's true, even for talking simians, I'm sure!
