DescriptionIn an homage to the John Byrne splash from Man of Steel, we got this debut double page splash showing off the new design for Superman Blue, or Electric Superman. This storyline divided the fan base, and from what I can tell and remember from my visits to the comic shop in 1997, the divide was between established “older” readers and the younger readers that came in around the time of Death & Return. I knew this wouldn’t last forever, but I accepted this story for what it was, a story. Comic books should be fun and honestly I had fun with this storyline and still look back on it fondly. Whether you liked the story or not, there really should be no disagreement, the suit design is fantastic!Social/Sharing |

Very nice vertical DPS color guide! Rare example of it and is of Superman Blue's big image statement that this wasn't just going to be a one and done thing. It helps that the it's a color guide to the character that is now defined by the color.

It is technically a horizontal DPS given the layout of the word balloons but whenever I read the comic I always turned the book to have it be a vertical layout. I just really love how it looks that way. Also, I agree, here the color is especially important given this is where those choices were made to get us to Superman Blue. I actually have the color guide for this whole issue and it's fun to see this color teased as Clark's body is fading out into pure energy.
