DescriptionIan Bertram's work was under the radar for me for a few years before his breakthrough with Little Bird. I had seen his art on a few issues of the weekly Batman Eternal series and been impressed by it, but he seemed at the time to be an artist in need of material to capitalize on his strengths as an artist and storyteller. Little Bird was that book.I re-read Little Bird recently and it's hard to imagine a more perfect artist to depict a world and characters crumbling under the weight of an oppressive religious group. The characters, the world, and the themes all in his vision made real and unified in the unique style.

Cool page from a good book (though I found it overhyped and better drawn than written).

Love the imagery and lots of emotion on that 3rd panel.

Excellent page Mark! Such a nice example! Each pannel is fantastic! Def going to do a re-reading myself soon before Precious Metal comes out.

I really enjoyed how such a tiny character could bring the carnage! Great example here, great page.

Stunning page from a stunning book. I didn't read Little Bird when it first came out, but when I did finally read it, I was floored. The story is totally captivating. The characters are unique and always interesting. This is a great example of a Little Bird page. Throughout the book, the art is nothing short of phenomenal. Ian Bertram is a unique voice in the comic book industry and he deserves to be seen and heard. I love his style and I think he has a real gift for visual storytelling. This is a great pick-up, congrats!
