Description

Jeff Gorrell and Richard Krawitz bought two pages from Carl Barks in February 1974.
Richard was the man behind the purchases and when the two pages arrived Richard and Jeff randomly each picked a page.
Some time after Richard asked Jeff if he wanted to make a switch and Jeff applied the request .
Jeff never ever regret and here is the page Jeff got instead and became the caretaker of for 44 years.
This page is therefore one of very few Barks original pages that has stayed by it`s first owner for more than four decades.

About the page : The page is quite spectacular as there are not so many survived originals around with the appearance of Scrooge and the Beagle Boys.
This 11`th page comes from Uncle Scrooge # 63 / 1965 story : “House of Haunts”.
Of the 5 fully survived Uncle Scrooge stories "House of Haunts" is the only story where the Beagle Boy`s appears.
There are so many qualities in this page but instead of describing it in further details I just recommend the viewers to simply study and enjoy it.
Carl Barks was a masterful and "one of a kind" artist.

Jeff Gorrell later became a very skilled and honored artist himself and in his later years he took up his old passion and began to collect original comic art once again.
Jeff and I had many interesting talks about art in general and he was always very kind explaining about his passion.
Sadly Jeff passed away in May 2020 – 74 years old.

What a fantastic page!!! I was also lucky enough to get to know Jeff a little...what a great guy he was, he is sadly missed...
