Descriptionyippie yi yo kayah! This crossword puzzle is done for June 1954 Donald Duck Beach Party issue # 1. This might be the 2nd earliest surviving Paul Murry's Disney comic book artwork! The earliest one looks to be only 2 months earlier published Four Color # 562 Goofy cover. What makes this very unique also is that here is not only the earliest Murry' Donald Duck, but 1 out 3 of all those Donald Duck artworks which survived from the whole Paul Murry's inked artwork! From over 5800 pages! So far I have counted only 3 times Donald from his surviving artwork: twice from this issue, and then the last one from 20 years later: the cover for WDC #400 (1974) where is Mickey, Goofy and Donald. And that's all folks! No more! So, if you are a collecting the finest Disney artists' Donald Ducks... a tough task! I thought never getting Murry's inked Donald Duck, but then once at night needed to have a wake-up at 3am to join a live auction... after that I wasn't tired anymore :-) As you see from the additional photo, the size of the artwork is really huge! I have paired it with the Dell Giant -series DD Beach Party #1, which was bigger then normal WDC. The Induck link is here: https://inducks.org/story.php?c=W+DDBP++1-03G Post Scriptum... never publish stuff before checking from Joakim Gunnarsson... He pointed immediately one more fine artwork from this DD Beach Party #1, sold by Russ Cochran in the early 1970s, it was in his Graphic Gallery #6. You can find it from here: https://inducks.org/story.php?c=W+DDBP++1-03A So, now add +1 Murry's DD into the above list I wrote ;-) Social/Sharing |

Wow, I wonder what happened to all those 5800 pages... Murry's Ducks certainly have a distinct and appealing look.

Like Barks' artwork: mostly burnt, sigh...
