Description

I'm a huge fan of hand lettering, typography, and design. This piece has it all in that regard.

This was a piece Mike Allred drew in 2001 leading up to his X-Force run. It was published in the X-Statix Omnibus several years later. Allred noted this piece was inspired by Jim Steranko's work on covers like Nick Fury #1.

As a huge bonus Allred drew an unused cover idea for his X-Force debut on issue #116 featuring the all new team in all their celebrity, uh glory! You can see Zeitgeist (he made an appearance in the Deadpool II movie) standing tall. Big thanks to Simon M again on this one!

What a logo! A visually pleasing and architecturally fascinating structure to rival Stonehenge!! And I love the background too. Thanks for sharing!

Monolithic in the 2001 A Space Odyssey sense! Allred is using that Kubrick movie opening to signal that X-Force is a new dawn in human/mutant evolution in the year 2001.
