“The Last Out” — Steve Skeates

A nice 70s horror intro page with Abel narrating this seemingly classic vampire tale with a corny ending — a vampire arrives in a small town to prey upon what he considers stupid inhabitants, after feeding on several victims he is discovered and attempts to flee the villagers by seeking refuge in a “bat cave” he’d previously heard the townsfolk mention. It turns out that the cave doesn’t have any bats to hide amongst but only two baseball bats left by one of the villagers … Groan.
