DescriptionAre color guides original art? This one makes a strong case for “yes!”It was the 1981 Batman/Hulk team-up that made me forever a fan of José Luis García-López. His work on that story, along with Dick Giordano’s perfect inks, is stunning, especially the pages in which The Shaper of Worlds gives The Joker the ability to make his twisted imagination a reality. But it’s the beautiful work of colorist Glynis Oliver Wein that really pops in the color guide (see accompanying photos). Notice the pink blended in with Hulk’s green lips, which you don’t see in the printed page. The paper / printing process back then really robbed colorists of their intended vision. José’s rendering of the Hulk in the last panel, trapped by Shaper, is amazing in true color. Social/Sharing |

Nice match of green colors for Joker's hair and the Hulk! So many great shades of green to give more doimension to the Hulk's face.
