Description

19�x23� (frame 27�x33�) Painted in the early '60s; purchased in 2017. Robert passed away in 2020. He wrote in an email to me, "This painting was done in 1962 or 1963...The client was Standard Oil of Indiana calendar month of December. The model for Santa was Paul Kafka. I don't remember the name of the woman model. The fireplace was in our home in Stony Brook, New York.� I'm still looking for the calendar.

Brings the warmth of the season no matter when you see this. Although the fading of Santa shows just how fleeting those memories and belief of the Christmas spirit can be.
