DescriptionThis issue was by far my favorite of the storyline, mainly because it featured my two favorite characters duking it out as gladiators. I was also fortunate enough to pick up a few pages from this book and of course am always looking for more.I knew this one had to be a special reimagination and Carlo has always excelled at these types of cover layouts. Carlo's genius shines through in the Hulk v Surfer central point, with the Warbound "overlooking" the action. It's quite amazing how he was able to capture each members' personality and aura with just their facial expressions. When requesting this, I dropped Miek for Caiera as I wanted an "antagonist" on the cover as well. Carlo was generous enough to add Miek in and obviously has a better eye than I do, as Miek really does belong here. Looking back, it's funny that they seemed to have switched roles between this issue and the conclusion of Planet Hulk, though it's not revealed until Hulk smashes all of Earth's heroes first. Another huge thanks to Carlo and Kirk for making this happen. This was completed during the height of the pandemic and served to cheer me up in a time of worry and gloom so will always hold a special place in my heart. Social/Sharing |

Oh wow, this is EPIC!!!! Man Carlo is really able to tap into the same vibe that he was on when drawing the original series. This is so goooood!

Man, some fine pencil line work throughout! I immediately thought of it as a Planel Hulk move poster! So much goodness packed in in terms of characters and action, and awesomely laid out. Congrats!

Wow! I can definitely see how this would cheer you up during the doom and gloom of the pandemic. It really is extraordinary! And I'm glad Carlo got Miek in there too. He looks great. This is truly a gem that's jam-packed with goodness, congrats!!

This is epic! Now I wish variant covers were all the rage back when Planet Hulk was coming out.
