Description

The 2019 Joker/Harley: Criminal Sanity series featured art by Mico Suayan (rhymes with "Hawaiian") and Mike Mayhew. Both artists helped this DC Black Label project live up to the hype, offering a chilling version of Joker that was all serial killer, no clowning around. A black page sometimes poses challenges for a remarque, but Joker's pallor provided a unique opportunity for contrast. Suayan added this inside the front cover of my hardback edition when I met him at Heroes Con 2023. He's become hugely successful as a cover artist and probably won't have much time for interiors (or commissions) in the foreseeable future.

A superstar the world over, Mico's appearances show how much demand there is for his artwork! His rewards for the fans often come in these spot on illos. This one is straight up sociopathic Joker with a ruthless edge to him.
