DescriptionSee the gallery front page for an explanation of this issue's significance. On this page: Behold, Morgana, whose powers include impossibly voluminous hair! This character appeared once, seven months earlier, as part of Sekowsky's tenure as writer/artist/editor on Wonder Woman. We learned little about her then, and even less here, except that she is (1) a powerful witch, and (2) obnoxious. But Diana taunts her into helping out, and apparently she knows Supergirl’s foe Zond already. The first panel gives us one last look at how ratty Supergirl's dress has become. Once again, the faces, hair, and Supergirl symbol have been whited out and redrawn, except for panel six, for which the face and hair have been totally replaced by a patch whose effect is to make her hair much fluffier. The words "--which I don't!" in panel three are also a patch; the original words were cut out with a razor, and the new words taped in from the back. The word balloon in panel five is a patch as well. I do like the pattern on Morgana's dress, which has a bustle for modesty's sake. Does she remind anyone else of Endora from the TV show “Bewitched”? I looked at this page numerous times before realizing that Morgana is holding a black cat throughout. It just sort of blends in, it's never mentioned, and it does not accompany Morgana on her outing with Supergirl. Social/Sharing |

Very 60's TV style to have mod fashions and gothic gowns together! They'd have minimal set design and often had the same empty black backgrounds.

Really love that first panel and of course the cat is the real star of this page.

I wonder if Frank was covering his bases with doing these Sekowsky pages. Marvel was falling apart at the time with Jack leaving. We know that Stan loved Frank's work, so why moonlight at DC?
Anyway, these are all examples of how Frank could make anybody look great. A master inker extraordinaire.....
