Description

Mage: The Hero Discovered Issue #1 pg 2 blue-line hand-painted by Matt Wagner (1984)

This is the first page of story art (after the title page) in the trilogy and the ist appearance and meeting of Mirth & Kevin Matchstick. It consists of a plastic overlay with the blacks areas present, and watercolors on board underneath, a truly lost art of coloring this way.

Comico stuck out as an indie imprint for doing these types of high quality methods early in their series. Sometimes to their own detriment with complex processes that would be time consuming. A great first issue with first class work by Wagner who controlled almost everything except lettering.
