Description

I did these two commissions for my friend Bill Leach based on the art of Basil Wolverton. �Wolverton was an American cartoonist and illustrator known for his intricately detailed grotesques of bizarre or misshapen people. Wolverton was described as "Producer of Preposterous Pictures of Peculiar People who Prowl this Perplexing Planet." His many publishers included EC comics, Marvel comics, DC comics, and Mad magazine. The first picture features Bill Leach surrounded by Wolverton pieces he owns. Bill owns over 150 original Basil Wolverton works of art. The second piece features some of Wolverton�s comic creations exploding from his head. These were a real challenge because of the number of characters and the unique style of Wolverton�s art. Enjoy!
