DescriptionBernet is one of my favorite artists and has had an enormous influence on my own artwork so I’m ecstatic to finally have an original page from him. You’ll often hear Bernet’s work described as a lovechild of Toth and Kubert because of his deft use of blacks and the brushy, loose linework. While I love those legends and those aspects Jordi utilizes in his work for me it’s the life he manages to inject in his characters through gesture and expression that transport me into the story and leave me marveling at his work.My original introduction to Bernet’s work was through Manuel Auad’s beautiful art book and soon after that Jimmy Palmiotti pulled off the amazing feat of bringing Jordi over to the American comics market to illustrate his Jonah Hex series. Track those stories down if you’re a fan of his work because they are every bit as good as Torpedo! This page is a climactic moment in the story as Jonah frees himself from a trap set by some hooligans that wanted revenge for an encounter from their youth. Social/Sharing |

What a great sequence! Hex isn't about to forgive and brings retribution!

Jordi Bernet excels in every genre: humor, fantasy, horror, the polar noir, erotica and, as you can see, the western too. Few artists are so complete.
