Description

Original Art created by Dave Pether for the COVER of the UK edition of "Outer Banks" by Anne Rivers Siddons, published by HarperCollins 1991 (published cover shown for reference only) - described as a "southern Gothic Twister of a romance novel". Unusually for book cover illustrations, Pether was commissioned to produce TWO PAINTINGS - the central image, and the background sea-scape. I have BOTH paintings here, with proof of publication on the back of one of them. Each is Painted in acrylics and gouache on illustration board, the smaller 'inset' reclining woman scene is 9.5" x 7.25" mounted to a larger board as shown, and the sea painting is 11" x 16.25" - and each comes with a label attesting to its authenticity signed by Pether's widow, mounted to the back. Two paintings in very good shape !
