Description

This page was published in June 1961, penciled by Gil Kane and inked by Joe Giella.

Sent on a mission to the planet Aku by fellow Green Lantern Tomar-Re (his very first appearance), Hal finds himself unable to move due to an unknown force so he creates a replica of himself to carry out the mission.

A Kane and Giella piece to bring the imaginative aerodynamic space age look to Green Lantern and comics. It is a foundational piece as DC's superhero line ushered in the Silver Age.

Great piece! What always intrigued me about this story is that in a way it seems a precursor to the Matrix.
