Description

Buscema always wanted to do Tarzan, this book and this classic ERB story certainly proved that wasn't a mistake.

This is the end sequence where Tarzan after escaping the clutches of La finally finds Jane at the lastminute as she's being attacked.

Luckily for us Tony DeZu�iga was having a bit of trouble finishing it, so who did he get to throw in??? but NEAL ADAMS and the New York tribe including Joe Rubenstein!!! Just WoW!!!

It looks like Adams was salivating to focused on Tarzan & probably the lion, DeZuniga on Jane. According to HA and the GCD, https://www.comics.org/issue/32166/ for page 13 "13 DeZu�iga, Adams (Tarzan figure panel 1)" perhaps others. Joe Rubenstein told me he and Alan Weiss worked on a few panels (1 and 3),...and possibly an early Marshall Rogers contribution (see back panel credits & JR)!

Each panel is a juggernaut of power in motion (I wish I had better diction!) Each sequence just makes me clench my teeth and grunt.

What an amazing page! The lion and human figures are fantastic. I can believe the background elements weren't inked by Adams or DeZuniga, but I see hallmarks of both of those inkers in Tarzan and the lion. Great action, and 4 legendary artists!
