Description

The big star artist at this year's Heroes Comic Con in Brussels two weeks ago was Ivan Reis. I'm sure there's no need to introduce one of the main house style artists at DC Comics, who has been in the business for a long while.

His table was the main point of interest in the Artist Alley & I was happy to be second in line. He took a while to set up, but once everything was set & done, he mentioned his commission options. There was one: a head sketch option on 9x12.

When he was done signing my books & we talked a bit, I politely asked him if he would do mine on 11x17 bristol, instead. He said that that wouldn't be a problem & I showed him my reference for Green Lantern (the Darkest Night #2 cover). Ivan laughed & said he'll definitely remember that one.

Later in the afternoon, I went to pick up my Hal Jordan commission & was obviously extremely happy with the result! Beautifully rendered pencils, with some great details here and there, despite the quickness of the piece.

Is Ivan the best modern Green Lantern artist? If he isn't, he sure is up there.
