DescriptionA page from the very first appearance of Zatanna Zatara, who has become a mainstay character in DC's stable of heroes. One of just 7 pages to feature Zatanna in this issue. Also, the first chapter of what would become DC Comics' first cross-title "Event!" The character was on a hunt for her father, Zatara, and would turn up in six different books over the course of two and half years to complete this story. Zatanna would then keep popping up in the background of the DCU until she was finally admitted to the Justice League of America in 1978. Zatanna later appeared in several Vertigo titles, and in the DC animated universe -- Batman Adventures, Young Justice etc. This page is at twice-up scale with an image area of 13" x 18". From the Murphy Anderson Collection. Social/Sharing |

What a beautiful historic page! Wonderful to know it is still here with us. That last panel really stands out having been referenced in Zee's recap intro in later appearances. Awesome!!!

You must be the current owner of the Absorbascon to have unearthed such a treasure as this ;)

I look in your thighs and I can see
You've loved so Shamdasani
You're not trusting your Hawk to anyone
You tell me you're gonna buy it now
Youtube to show the art
But I believe that we've only just begun
When art's this good, there's no saying no
Absorbascon, I'm ready to go
Through the wire, wait a minute, then you stall
For a chance art be with you
I'd gladly ship it all
Through the wire
Through however, many days
For a chance art loving you
I'd take with any pay
Right down to Zatanna
Pay me through the wire

Beautful and historical page! I'm both glad that you're sharing the page, and also quite envious that you have it! ;-)
