I've been wanting a Wagner Green Arrow cover for a while now and several years ago I found this posted for sale at a very reasonable price, but I was hoping to get a cover with GA in full costume.

The last two covers that came up for auction were both great with big waist up shots of GA in both filling the cover. One went for $2.5k and the other $3k, IIRC.

Here comes the Kevin Smith auction with 12-13 covers for auction, I figured that there's got to be one that I like and can afford. However, I totally blew. It my day to pick my daughter up from school and I ran a quick errand before picking her up because while I set it in my calendar, I didn't set up an alarm. It was only on the way back home that I remembered, so I rushed upstairs and had missed all the action.

This turned to be ok by me as everything sold for more than I expected. Some of the pieces I was interested in would have been upgrades from art I already owned, that I bought Years ago a old prices, so I was a little surprised when I saw that some pieces were 10x for what I paid for my pages. I won't lie, the pages in Kevin's auction were nicer than mine but not enough to spend the money.

So after the auction, I contacted the seller to buy this one for a bit more that half of the what the cheapest GA cover sold for.

I'm sure the premium of those covers in the auction had to do with Smith writing those issues. This one is just as cool for being a Matt Wagner painted cover. The way he uses graphic design elements so creatively for the composition makes this artistically on par.
