Is this page still available for sale?
Wow! Congrats on picking this up. I did not you that got it until just now. A spectacular piece in an already stellar collection.
Congrats on a beautiful DPS. I wish it was in my collection. However, it is not from Tim Sale's first Batman work. His first Batman work is Tim inking Norm Breyfogle on Batman #460 and Legends of the Dark Knight #32, a 3 issue collaboration with James Robinson, was released on 5/7/92. But this is from Jeph and Tim's first Batman work. They had previously did a Challengers of the Unknown mini series in 1991.
Hey CAB, great piece. So great that I bought directly from Nick Cardy himself at a rare SDCC appearance in 2001, I think.
it was also published on the back cover of the Teen Titans Companion by TwoMorrows.
Love this poster. Loved since I first saw it. This is the second time that Neal Adams has redesigned Robin's costume. The first time was in JLA vol 1 #91 and 92. When the Robins of Earth-1 and 2 participated in a JSA/JLA crossover and Robin of Earth-1's costume was damaged and wore what had became the Modern costume of the Robin of Earth-2. Neal is given credit for it in the dialogue in the comic.
When this version came out I brought my JLA issue to SDCC to have Neal sign my copy and in showing it to him, he had forgotten about his initial redesign and my reminding him, he turn around to his kids who were working his both to show that too.
Shemp I have a complete Robin retailer promo kit. Shoot me a line.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours. Great strip.
Yes, back in 1986, unfortunately the winners only received "a crappy piece of paper" as the award. I believe this was either the 1st or 2nd Kirby Awards they had done. It was later changed to the Eisner Awards at SDCC. But I believe that some other convention took up the Kirby awards at some later date.
Wow! How have I not seen this before? Incredible page, beautiful art.
Hi there, this is a convention sketch that Steve did for me at the 1988 San Diego Comic Con. I'm glad it's found a good home.
Yes, Ruben, it is indeed JLGL's pencils for the published page, which were scanned and sent to Joe Prado to be printed out in blue lines and then inked by Joe Prado. It's on 11x17 art board.
Great action packed page as only Gil could deliver. Congrats.
That's a great piece. I'm envious, exactly what I would've requested as well.
Such a great DPS. You got the Avengers on it too. Congrats.
Congrats Andy! The best Space Ghost "sketch" that I've seen. I've admired this one for decades.
Hi Steve, while I don't have page 2, I do have this memorable page from the same issue for sale.

2nd best cover. I'm partial to #14. I have a color recreation of this cover by Nick and Tom.
Thanks Marcus, I was quite happy to win this one for all the reasons you mention and greatfull it hasen't faded al all.
Bill, this was a print that Steve gave out or sold at San Diego one year. I believe it was a black and white print so I'm guessing it was also used as a print ad or promo poster for retailers, which is why it was colored.
What an unforgettable page. Remember it vividly from my childhood. Batman, Robin & Batgirl unmasked by Catwoman only to reveal painted on masks. Great page Wayne, thanks for sharing.
Very cool, I haven't seen this one before. This one had your name written all over it. BTW, it was for a Flash themed variant cover month.
GianCarlo, have you held an original Chaykin Flagg page in your hands and really looked at it? If you had, then you'd know the "bluish tinge" you see is not markers bleeding but is actually part of the pattern of the due-shade board. It is in non repro blue so when pages where shot/filmed for reproduction it wouldn't show up on the printed page. However, modern scanners do pick it up in great detail and if you click on Ron's scan to enlarge it, you'll see what I'm talking about.
Also, there is no zip-a-tone on this board, the effect is all achieved by using the activator chemical on the duo-shade board. Zip-a-tone is a bunch of tiny dots on a clear sheet of "film" that gets applied on top of the artwork to give it a similar effect of the duo-shade but through a completely different process.
As I said before, go read, do a little research, know what you're talking about.
Sadly, that's just a small portion of it. Although I've mainly gone digital, I can't bring myself to part with any.

BTW Ron, great DPS. I'm glad the 2 pages have been reunited. Flagg was a groundbreaking comic and one of the best indie books of the '80's. Congrats on scoring it.
You crack me up GianCarlo, you left the same comment for me on my Chaykin Video Rangers pin-up 6 years ago and I tried to explain to you then that it's not faded marker but the intended use of the duo-shade board. Do yourself a favor and look it up.

As they say Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt!
Definitely a historic pagea, as it is the final published page, but is there any original art on here or is it just all stats that have been combined to make the title page.
Just wondering based on your description and all the comments.
Fantastic page Alex, congrats. Who did you have to kill to get this one?
Fantastic cover, Nick. Congrats. Always great seeing art from this mini-series. It's a shame that they never collected this series in a TPB with his work in World's Finest.
This is a fantastic illustration by JLGL. Which hardcover is it in?
Beautiful Ditko page, Chris. Congrats, nice pick up.
Congrats Matt, this is an amazing piece. What size is it?
Great art and great story. I used to go to Snowden’s Deli and man so I miss smoked meat.
Wow! Beautiful vintages Bruce Timm. He doesn’t draw them like this anymore.
Wow Bill, Congrats on this amazing Toth model sheet. I don't think I've ever seen a Toth Scooby model sheet before of this caliber. Just fantastic. Enjoy.
Congrats Brian, this piece is simply amazing. Is this 9x12 or larger?
This is fantastic Marc. Congrats on adding another masterpiece to your collection.
This is fantastic. Looks much better in pen and ink than the published cover. Nice score.
Yes it is, but unfortunately I don’t own, I’m just a co-star on the cover, as the soda jerk.
