Description

The 11th strip from the first storyline. Salinas' storytelling abilities are well displayed here. In panel one, he manages the bright daylight illuminating the dark scene of a fallen Cisco with the same casual mastery of his character's cheeky expression in panel three. As in other early examples, Salinas is still working out the details of Cisco (perhaps at the editorial direction of King Features?) Here the use of white out is not just detailing the fine embroidery and highlighted folds of his jacket, but trimming up his sideburns!

A fabulous Salinas with such a great charm added to the strip that makes it stand out amongst all the other western comics of the time! It's miles ahead in the genre bringing great authenticity through the attention paid to character, costumes, and settings. Our concerns for the Kid's health are assuaged as he gets his reward and gives us a wink to tell us everything is alright!
