Description

As a huge fan of Mr. Mxyzptlk, Batmite, and the Legion Of Super Pets, as well as quirky pieces in general, this is quite the dream page for me.

In this rather epic story, Batmite and Myxy go from world to world, reality to reality, clashing with each other and destroying everything and everyone in their path.

This particular page is full of crazy hijinks, from Myxy defeating Streaky, Krypto, Supermonkey & Comet with a swarm of gigantic fleas ... to impishly growing hair on Lex Luthor's head that proceeds to strangle him AND literally tickle Joker to death. "Gosh, this is very ironic," as Batmite points out.

This one shot mash up team up had an all star line up to celebrate fun and humor that was much needed in the age of grim and gritty 90's. They really chose the best artist for the parts of the story they would exceed at. This one with multiple heroes and animals from the silver age is handled so warmly and perfectly by Gibbons' deft touch.

Interesting to see this is Gibbons. My first thought when looking a the art was that it reminded me of Steve Rude art. Loved Mxyptlk as a kid and who doesnt Love Batmite?! Congrats!

I would have never thought in a million years you would consider acquiring this as a "dream" by looking your collection over. Having this done by Dave Gibbons has to be part of the treat for you. I congratulate you none the less though!!!

Cool! I love FUN stuff like this! As an interesting aside, I thought this might be a Steve Rude piece, as it actually feels more like Rude doing cartoony stuff than it does Gibbons. Either way, it really well done. Another fun thing for me is that I've never heard of this comic book, let alone seen it before, so this is one of those rare times where the art is completely new to me in every way. I especially love Lex's Medusa hair and the fact that Joker can't stop laughing. Great fun!
