DescriptionI loved what Brubaker, Tan, and Miki did with Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar Empire back in 2007 or so. Ed grabbed a great mix of charaters to shoot into space and wrapped them up in a Claremont esque year-long story.Here Korvus and Rachel battle it out with the Shi'ar. Their romance was a great central plot of the arc. The way Tan portrayed the Phoenix Blade was another high point of the arc. He also did a great job with Rachel's power set. This page shows both. Billy Tan has done a lot of great work, but for me, this arc was a high point so far. Got this page from a ComicLink auction in fall 2023. Social/Sharing |

That panel two will always be effective as he is looking right at us and rallying us into the battle.

Agreed that Brubaker short run was exciting and different. And it was cool to see Tan produce new work.
