DescriptionAnd then, there were three!I know, I know... I was already more than happy with 2 pages of the one and only Flash by Carmine Infantino, being fully satisfied with their utmost sense of elegance and serenity, whatever the circumstances... But, then, this one pops up and... Ah, I knew there was something missing that I still had to see, up, close and personal: that is the incredible futuristic cityscapes and architectural designs that Carmine brought in as an extra, whenever he had the chance. Here we are, then, deeply immersed in balance and meaning, as our character (the villain of the piece, if my memory serves me well) gets to meet our hero, who, in the last panel, blends in so well with the local crowd that it looks like he belongs here... I remember having read somewhere that Carmine Infantino had great fondness for the works of Frank Lloyd Wright. Personally, I think the influence is very very clear here... Social/Sharing |

Thanks Duke! I know they look cute by today's standards... but I still love them as well... Next thing for me is to try and locate some Space Museum art, especially with Infantino inking himself!

The age of science and modernism shown through the lens of comics as Infantino and Giella took inspiration from all the advances that happened during this era and used it as the foundation of the silver age.

Thanks Marcus! I agree, of course, but why does it feel like paradise lost?
