Description

The Hall & Oates of comic art deliver another chart topper! Moody broody Scotty gets a stern talking to by the master of magnetism & old man pecs. Turns out feelings run hot as sworn enemies begin to share similar ideologies, what with the preservation of the mutant race and all. And who better to deliver a manly emotional moment then Stuart and Wade... For example: The subtle linework in Cyclops' face! The clever inking of the trees, first as background then as foreground. Reflections glinting off helmets as ruby-quartz visors are dramatically levitated back to safety! I love how Scott has to look UP to Magneto. As if to say "Don't touch me you genocidal maniac, but thanks for the assist and I suppose you may have some insight on leadership and survival."

Really stellar example of sequential storytelling! You don't need to know exactly what they're saying in order to get a sense about what's happening!

I really enjoyed how messed up the renegade X-Men were in this era. This is a beautiful spread and a great story moment between these two characters.
