Unpublished study, pencil and colored crayons for Martin Mystere probably sent to Castelli

Lucio Filippucci (Bologna, November 30, 1955) is an Italian cartoonist.

In 1975 he began working for various Edifumetto series. In 1979 he succeeded Milo Manara for the Chris Lean series published in the Corrier Boy magazine (for which he also illustrated several short stories). With colleague and friend Giovanni Romanini he also works for the French market.

Also his are the drawings for the books Il manuale di autodifesa televisiva by Patrizio Roversi and Il manuale della tap model by Syusy Blady.

He creates the 16 episodes of the Raimbo series, published in 1985-1986 by the Edifumetto publishing house in the classic paperback pocket format.

Also for Edifumetto, and in the same format, he realizes, in collaboration with Giovanni Romanini, the series "I ragazzi della 3ª B," on newsstands in 1988 and 1989.

He collaborates for a long time with Panini comics and with the publishers of children's books Piccoli and Juvenilia. In 1992 he won the Lunigiana Award with Alberto Savini with the book Quel tunnel sotto la scuola.

He has worked at Sergio Bonelli Editore since the early 1990s, becoming over time a regular cartoonist for Martin Mystère. In 1998 he works on the adventures of Docteur Mystère published in the Almanacs of Mystery, on a script by Alfredo Castelli.

In 2003, he illustrated his wife Maria Gabriella Buccioli's book I giardini venuti dal vento (Gardens Came from the Wind) about the botanical garden they cared for in the municipality of Loiano and received the Hanbury Botanical Gardens Award. In 2005 he received the ANAFI Award for best cartoonist.

In 2008 he made the Texone Seminoles on a script by Gino D'Antonio, and then officially joined the Tex staff in 2013, completing the plates for his first story published in the unpublished series, L'oro dei monti San Juan, on texts by Claudio Nizzi.

He currently lives and draws at his home in the Bolognese Apennines.

Lavora alla Sergio Bonelli Editore dall'inizio degli anni '90 diventando col tempo un disegnatore fisso di Martin Mystère. Nel 1998 lavora alle avventure del Docteur Mystère pubblicate sugli Almanacchi del Mistero, su sceneggiatura di Alfredo Castelli.

Nel 2003 illustra il libro della moglie Maria Gabriella Buccioli I giardini venuti dal vento che parla dell'orto botanico da loro curato nel comune di Loiano e che riceve il Premio Giardini botanici Hanbury. Nel 2005 riceve il Premio ANAFI come miglior disegnatore.

Nel 2008 realizza il Texone Seminoles su sceneggiatura di Gino D'Antonio, per poi entrare ufficialmente nello staff di Tex nel 2013, portando a termine le tavole della sua prima storia pubblicata sulla serie inedita, L'oro dei monti San Juan, su testi di Claudio Nizzi.

Attualmente vive e disegna nella sua casa sull'Appennino Bolognese.

Really nice sketch by Lucio, with an interesting use of color to define shapes and give the image more depth. If you ask me, he's a very underestimated artist!
