Description“Ben’s going to win in 3 moves” (Paul Martin Smith)Benjy and Jade Jaws take it easy for a change, in this laid-back winner from Smitty. I get a strong Norman Rockwell/holiday season vibe from this picture. It reminds me a lot of those old Marvel house-ads from the 70s. Everything in their planned placement including the chess pieces. It is done so by Smith's inks in this piece that uses different hatching techniques to define levels of depth. It brings the rivalry to a calm and warm end... that is until the Thing says checkmate.

Exceptional piece and the inclusion of the 2 dragons is a nice touch and reference to Smithy's career. Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely love this, from the pipe/cigar down to the slippers. These two deserve a nice break from smashing and clobbering, at least for a few minutes.
