DescriptionI'm pretty jazzed tonight. Not only do I get to post a fantastic cover by the great Ed McGuinness starring my favorite wallcrawler AND my favorite web-whanger, but with this piece, I have reached the magic number of 1,000 posts on my CAF!I was so EXCITED when I found out that Rek-Rap was getting his own three-issue arc in Amazing Spider-Man #36-38!! The story also features Spider-Man of course (it is his book after all), the Insidious Six, Randy Robertson, and a new character called the Repossessor!! Ed McGuinness created Rek-Rap and introduced him back in vol 6 issue #17. I know how much fun he has drawing the character, so it's really wonderful that the character is so popular and continues to thrive in the Spiderverse. Special thanks to Ed for giving me the opportunity to add this beauty to my collection! Rek-Rap forever!! Social/Sharing |

I see a certain someone is collecting most of the new Spidey covers! This one definitely had my attention, and in another universe I totally snatched it! Awesome get!

In another universe, you are me and I am you. So we basically each own the others' collection. My head hurts a little after writing that...

I like the extreme downward perspective here. And yeah, Spidey is cool, but Rek-Rap is absolutely the featured of the 2 here! And fits the McGuinness style perfectly with the uber muscled physique...but mixed with the Spidey flexiblity and dexterity! Very nice, Paul. Congrats!

I love the perspective too. I can imagine standing on the sidewalk and looking up to see those two bombastic web-slingers coming towards me. And what a sight that would be, haha! Thanks for the comment as always!

Thanks! And you are absolutely right -- the FUN jumps off the page in a big way with Ed at the artistic helm. You can sense the joy he feels when drawing these characters.

Congrats on 1000, and what better way to swing into the next thousand than with Ed's always brilliant take on everyone's favorite web crawler? Awesome!

Fresh off the press! Rek-Rap is leaving his footprints all over this series! McGuinness' muscle bound art brings a brash mad balls approach to him and can't be denied from the spotlight of the cover!

Congratulations on scoring this cover, Paul! It would've been highly disappointing to find out that the world's biggest Rek-Rap fanatic didn't end up acquiring this. Oh, and since it's a 3 issue story, I extend my advance congratulations on acquiring the covers for part two and three as well!

Believe me, I would have been VERY disappointed if I wasn't able to add this one to my collection. But actually, I didn't acquire Ed's covers to #36 and #38 (no Rek-Rap), but I did manage to grab a variant cover to #38 by Valerio Giangiordano that I look forward to sharing. Thanks for the comment and the congrats!

I thought picking out my 1000th post would cause me lots of toiling & second guessing, but when I acquired this one just recently, I knew I had the winner. Thanks for the comment!!
