DescriptionRek-Rap (a wonderful new kind of Bizarro Spider-Man character first appearing in ASM vol 6 #17) recently starred in his own three-issue story where he followed a trail that eventually led him to a being that was eating up members of the Insidious Six (six demons from Limbo who were transformed into weird versions of Spidey's greatest foes). This demon-munching monster is called the Repossessor (or Gus), and he ends up causing all kinds of problems for Rekky and Spidey. This is a great two-page sequence where the trail leads him to a confrontation with none other than Spider-Man, who is none to happy to see poor ol' Rek-Rap. But Rek-Rap is so good-natured that he yells "WEEEEEEE!" as he is hurled up onto the roof. I love how he talks about his "spider-brain tingle" on the first page, and also how he licks the building as he climbs it. "YUM!" The excited little boy looking out the window is pretty hilarious as well. Social/Sharing |

Love it! Not only is the art a picture of magical beauty but the personality really makes you stop and bask in the story let alone wonder what comes next. Congrats!

McGuinness can do no wrong on these two cool pages! It's nice to see Rek-Rap art in the hands of someone who truly enjoys the character. Nice additions!!!

That Rek-Rap character is interesting. Maybe you need to find another page or two with him on it!! ;-P

Man, this Rek-Rap is a real crack-up! He definitely needs his own animated series, or at least his own comic book series! Such great looking art, too!

McGuinness uses an extreme angle in page 12 and turns the layout 90 degrees right and inverts it for page 13. Each page features a huge Rek-Rap image where we can see the joy McGuinness puts into the figure.

Fun moment and, man, Ed can just get that classic comic book energy into his stuff, can't he?! First page got a classic crawling pose, but this is Rek-Rap, so he's gotta take up most of the board when he does. THEN the interplay between the 2 Spideys - ha! Fun stuff, Paul. Congrats on adding to the McGuinness Rek-Rap colleccion!

Great panel layouts! McGuinness should draw Spidey for however long he wants since his art style gels wonderfully with that cast of characters.
