Description

After years of waiting and lusting for original art from Master Nord I finally got my opportunity in Athenscon 2023 in Greece!

I commissioned three portraits of Conan, at a younger age with his iconic BWS helmet, as older grim adventurer and then King...I think they will look amazing in a triptych!

Also I was most excited to learn that Cary Nord will return in a issue of the new Savage Sword of Conan!

Great horn head look! The ink blur shadow on the helmet along with the white paint give this one a classical shine on that tan paper. Nord's Conan was a great follow up to his Daredevil run as he displayed a great control over anatomy and weight in battle action.

I am glad you like this Marcus, the Horn Helmet was Conan's first helmet (from the BWS stories), and he was extremely fond of it. So fond in fact that the wizard Zukala brought it back to Conan in the story "Eye of the Storm" (Savage Sword of Conan 189). And YES, Cary is getting better every year that passes...

I do love Nord 's knod to BWS, it was the first thing I thought of when I saw this art. Nice headshot.

You can't go wrong with a Cary Nord commission. He is incredibly talented! Regarding the helmet, I made a BWS helmet request to both Cary and Fornes last weekend at the con I met them and they both delivered handsomely!
