You can't go wrong with a Cary Nord commission. He is incredibly talented! Regarding the helmet, I made a BWS helmet request to both Cary and Fornes last weekend at the con I met them and they both delivered handsomely!
I am glad you like this Marcus, the Horn Helmet was Conan's first helmet (from the BWS stories), and he was extremely fond of it. So fond in fact that the wizard Zukala brought it back to Conan in the story "Eye of the Storm" (Savage Sword of Conan 189). And YES, Cary is getting better every year that passes...

I think this is his first time. He was eager to do it and felt very inspired. This is not long after he takes the throne from Numedides and is still near his "prime". I asked him to avoid the very old version we have seen in the Giorello series. Cary is such an amazing talented artst and really patient with demanding (psycho)fans (like myself :P)...

Thanks for your comment Robert! It's one of my favorites as well. That is why I have kept it for my portfolio. The original is 1000 times better than the scan. Face loosely based on a model that goes by the name "Anjou".

Yes Tom did awesome work on the Splash pages for this series. But I was telling him a few months ago that this particular page was in my opinion one of the best he has done ! It has a really great composition and excellent energy ! Really powerful ! I am sure you will really enjoy that !
