Description

Got some more Rek-Rap pages in the mail! Rek-Rap, the bulky good-natured 'Bizarro Spider-Man' from Limbo who I just can't get enough of.

A couple weeks ago, I posted pgs 12-15 from this same issue (#36), where Rek-Rap meets up with Spider-Man and they battle Doctor Octoball, one of the Insidious Six.

Well, the issue begins with Rek-Rap, dressed in a trench coat and fedora claiming to be from the 'Official Investigation Squad,' doing his best impression of a PI in disguise. Of course he is fooling nobody, including the man at the door and also the Grave Goblin who yells "REK-RAP, I SEE YOU!" in that last panel of page 2, causing Rek-Rap to whirl around. The next page (pg 3) features a stunning splash of the two getting into it, which I also have posted previously. You can check it out in my REK-RAP gallery.

Anyway, Rek-Rap is on the case of the Re-Possessor, a monster from Limbo who appears later in the issue. Stay tuned!

I gotta admit, I don't really get this whole Rek-Rap thing, but that large panel on page 2 with him in the trench and old beat up hat is pretty fun.

Detective Rek-Rap on the Case?!?

I love it! Great idea, great artistic execution and really good dialogue! If Marvel ever puts out a TPB collecting just the Rek-Rap appearances, let me know because I definitely want to get that. Talk about some good, solid fun! I can't believe Marvel didn't put out a Rek-Rap Holiday Special....

I love your idea of a Rek-Rap Holiday Special! Actually, there is a "Dark Web" TPB available on amazon that includes Amazing Spider-Man #17 and #18, which were Rek-Rap's first two issues. I imagine that ASM #36-38 will be included in a "Gang War" TPB in the future, because although this was mainly a 3-issue adventure for Rek-Rap, there was a bit of Gang War stuff mixed in. But I'm hoping for a purely Rek-Rap TPB that just includes these five issues plus any other Rek-Rap stories in the near future.
