DescriptionPublished 1966Frenzy in a Far-off Land! written by Stan Lee Goliath is stuck in his 10 foot size goes lookin for his old professor Dr. Anton to help find a cure. He finds that Dr. Anton is being held prisoner in the Forbidden Land and sets out to rescue him. These Avengers issues with Goliath stuck as a giant were favorites of mine and I thought Don Heck did a great job and I was happy to be able to pick this page up so many years ago. Social/Sharing |

So long ago I don't remember when
That's when they said I lost my power shrink
Well they said I'm found easy 'cause now grown to ten feet
As I listened through the Dr. Anton scene
I seen the sun comin' up at the New Jersey art con
With the Forbidden Land that Don Heck draws
Now it always seemed such a waste
He always drew a pretty face
I wondered why Heck hung around this place
Hey-ey-ey
Come on try a Marvel
Coming is Avengers
Got to beat Flaming Keeper that's all the evil
Heck and Giacoia
They put it all together
They can drive it home
With one artline

As others have said before...as the years go by I appreciate Don Heck's Avengers more and more. I'm also a fan of Hank and Giantman so that's a bonus as well. Great page!

I like how Giacoia inked Heck in this era. It helped make Heck's art somewhat more palatable for me. These were pretty fun issues.

Dramatic page - you can feel something mystical going on - wish we had seen more of the Keeper of the Flame! Thanks for sharing!
