Description

ShieldMaster: Blast to the Past is a comic that I wrote, drew, and produced featuring the return of Joe Simon and Jack Kirby's classic creations. Joe Simon and Jack Kirby themselves also appear inside this comic and contribute towards the story. For this special issue, I wanted to have wrap around covers commemorating this moment, their first crossover in history.

I reached out to Tom Morgan, Whose work I have been a fan of, and was pleased he was willing to contribute to the project with a cover. I gave him the synoposis of the story and Tom proposed this idea in a sketch for the cover. I suggested making one of the secret service agents protecting President Kennedy look like a young Clint Eastwood. A sublte nod to the movie "In the Line of Fire". Tom did a great job capturing the feel classic feel of these characters but making the cover modern enough for today.
