DescriptionI picked up this page years ago, largely because it was by one of the legends of comics - Gene Colan. Yet somehow, I was always a bit disappointed that what I had was the back side of our hero. This past weekend, I was showing some of my art to a new friend...and he was taken back by the spirts that are swirling around the right had side of the page. Moral of the story - there is always something of value in each page...whether you initially see/appreciate it, or not. Thanks Jason. Social/Sharing |

The Spectre's behind may be facing us, but it's still a very nice, Neal Adams-esque pose, and your new friend is right, those spooky ghosts on the right ARE really cool!

Huh. Well, your friend sounds like a really cool dude. :) And I think he was exactly right - those spirits curling around the right side of that page are what this thing is all about (and obviously what Gene was -really- wanting to draw and sink his time into on this one). Gorgeous sprit howlers (which is going to be the name of my next band, I just decided) are something you'd really need to have at least one example of in any well-rounded Colan collection, and you absolutely check that box with this one, Simon. Really super piece, man - congrats!

Jason, Thanks for the congrates. I guess sometimes it takes another "eye" in order to appreciate what you have (please take a look at my children),
