Description

In order to support the "Hedrek: Broken Pieces" Kickstarter Steven Austin offered several postcard sized commissions of any character of choice. After all spots were taken he had some blank postcards lying around and graced these with further characters he liked or wanted to prep for. On a lot of these extra works he toyed with the surface of the card stock in order to create interesting effects (like rain splashes or smoke). I was able to score both Judge Anderson and her nemesis Judge Death from this lot.

The heavy inking contributes to an oppressive mood which is intensified via the contrasting rain effects.
A visual highlight for me are the two white lines used to outline the lower part of Death's helmet which accentuate the inner shadow of this iconic piece of head gear.

The rain effect scarring of the board is cool too! So much more dramatic weight is created to go with the sinister smile of Death!
