The line work in this drawing is incredible. Recently Mr. Woodring made available some of his originals on his website. I felt this drawing was a standout! There is a lot here to take in. Jim Woodring is a true master working with pen and ink.

A great one. Woodring is so skilled at conveying multiple moods in his art. This piece is whimsical and ominous at the same time.

Just glorious! The variation of lineweights in the continuous lines used to define depth and lighting in the piece is so well controlled to convey the mood of the piece. His art can range from grotesque to pleasing and this one falls upon the latter.

Phenomenal Jim Woodring illustration! I love Jim's unique and peculiar approach to his art. He comes up with the most unusual imagery! Here you have a city filled with frogs who seem to populate every available inch of ground. They peer out of mysterious dome-shaped buildings, they crowd together on strange raised platforms, they dangle their feet at cliffside. Meanwhile, a mysterious cat sleeps peacefully in his crescent-shaped boat floating on the river that passes by. All of this drawn in precise, carefully rendered inkwork. Woodring has one of the most unique illustration styles ever. Great pick-up!
