DescriptionI already own a Dark Knight Returns blueline of one of my favourite story moments but it’s hard to turn down the opportunity to also have the blueline which accompanies my original DKR page.Varley’s contribution to Dark Knight’s impact is hard to overstate and these bluelines look great in person. I had the opportunity to meet Miller & Varley at a con signing in London during the height of DKR mania and got 2 of the issues signed. Doesn’t seem like she did many public events after that. I love that this has two tension-filled scenes on one page. I like the parallelism between panels 3 and 8.

Congrats on adding this one to the DKR collection, JM! Key moment, great page, and love the colors in the last panel - got grey/blue Bats vs the poppier white/green Joker. Sweet contrast, in more ways than one!

Really cool as the personality and atmosphere of the page shines through with the Varley colors. Not garish as they would go in the sequel, as the greys and silhouettes create the sense of dread not found in just the b&w.
